About Us

The Rescue

Donate a paw rescue was created in 2018 as a food bank for helping other rescues throughout Ontario. 2019 was The first time we took in an animal because it was abandoned on a Caledon trail. Once we took in our first rescue Blossom the bunny we started helping more such as cats and small animals including bunnies and guinea pigs. During the time of saving these animals we started to open up a foster group to have the community come together in helping make a difference in these animals lives. To this day we have saved and made such a difference in many animals lives and couldn't have done it without the support of our team. In 2020 we have officially become a registered non-profit organization with the government of Canada and serving throughout the province of Ontario. By 2021 we have helped care for, rehabilitate, and rehome over 150 animals and we currently have animals in foster homes receiving care to soon be adopted out.  We are hoping to expand our rescue so we can continue making a difference in these animals lives as there are so many stray cats, abandoned cats and small animal surrenders who need a fresh start to finding there forever home. With our team we are always finding new ways to fundraise and we continue our search for new partnerships and fundraising opportunities. For any further questions, to learn more about us or if you would like to help in any way please feel free to contact us.

Megan Chiodi

Owner

Before I started rescuing, Donate A Paw was a team, to help give other rescues an extra hand on supplies. We would collect many donations from people and travel around Ontario to deliver trucks full of items. I knew how important it was as most rescues rely on donations.
My first personal rescue was an abandoned bunny dumped in the woods named Blossom. Once Blossom came into my care, I knew with my experience currently working at a vet hospital, going to college for ACU and working at shelters, I could help animals in need. After Blossom, I started taking in more small animals and cats and helping them find homes. Knowing now that I can make a difference in the world, it makes me more passionate for what I do!
